About This Site

xmrigsoftware.com is an independent informational resource about the XMRig mining software, written for Windows users in the United States and Canada.

What this site is

A set of plain-language guides explaining how XMRig works on Windows: where to get it safely, how to verify what you downloaded, how the configuration file is structured, and what to do when something does not start. Everything here is written for this site.

What this site is not

It is not the official XMRig project website, it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the XMRig developers, and it does not host, mirror or redistribute the software. Downloads always point to the project's own repository. We do not copy the project's documentation; where the authoritative answer lives upstream, we link to it.

How the content is produced

  • Written from hands-on use of XMRig on ordinary Windows desktops.
  • Checked against the project's own releases and published notes.
  • Corrected when behaviour changes between versions.
  • No hashrate tables copied from other people's hardware, no download counters, no user reviews we did not receive.

Our editorial rules

We publish a claim only if we can stand behind it. Where a result depends on your hardware, we say so rather than quoting a number. Where an action has a real trade-off — disabling a Windows security feature, creating an antivirus exclusion — we describe the cost as well as the benefit. Mining is presented as something you do on hardware you own, and nothing here is financial advice.
